In contemplating the significance of the camera in our daily lives, I delve into the profound meaning it holds for us.  The camera, as a device, discerns the world through its lens, providing a unique perspective. When we peer into the small viewfinder, we engage in the act of observation and interpretation, at times adopting a voyeuristic approach.
The process of shooting with a camera is marked by a seemingly straightforward direction of gaze. However, the outcome of this process often takes on a distinct character. The captured result serves as a device that faithfully reflects my gaze. It becomes a manifestation of my focus, prompting contemplation on aspects of my identity that were previously unknown to me.
As I ponder what I truly wish to perceive through the camera, I reflect on the specific elements within the frame that captured my attention. I contemplate the desire to conceal or enhance certain aspects, as well as the development and exaggeration of particular elements. The asymmetry and direction of the gaze portrayed in the work become focal points of consideration.
This project aims to visualize my own gaze through the lens of the camera, providing a means for self-reflection. While I have consistently enjoyed analyzing the behavior of others from the vantage point of an observer, interpreting their actions based on appearances, I now turn the lens inward to examine myself.
